Songitude — Support
Songitude is a location-based soundwalk player. Put on headphones, open a walk, press play,
and the audio changes as you move through the mapped area.
Getting started
- Open the app and allow location when prompted (choose "While Using the App").
- Pick a walk from the list (sorted by what's nearest you).
- Press the big play button and start walking. Audio keeps playing in the background with
your screen locked and the phone in your pocket.
Common questions
Why does it need my location?
Only to play the right sounds for where you're standing and to sort nearby walks. Your location
never leaves your device — see our
Privacy Policy.
The audio stopped when I locked my phone.
Make sure you granted location access and pressed play. The app is designed to keep rendering in
the background; it only stops when you pause or fully quit the app.
Can I listen without the app?
Yes — there's a
web player, but it can't run in the background,
so keep the page open and screen on. The iOS app is the full experience.
I want to publish my own soundwalks.
Publishing is invite-only right now. Email us to request access.

Reporting a soundwalk, an artist, or a problem
Every walk in Songitude is published by a named composer who has confirmed they hold the
rights to all of its audio. If you come across something that shouldn't be there — a rights or
copyright problem, offensive material, anything else — please tell us:
- In the app: Settings → Report, and choose the walk, the artist, or the issue. The
walk you're listening to is filled in for you.
- By email: brian.e2014@gmail.com
Reports are read by a person, normally the same day. We can take any walk out of the catalog
immediately, and we can withdraw a composer's access to publish. Publishing is invite-only, so
nothing reaches the app without being approved by us first.
